Welcome To The Holy Grail Coffee Cafe

Welcome To The
Holy Grail
Coffee
Cafe

The Holy Grail Coffee Café Project will hopefully become a gathering place like the wonderful French Cafes quickly fading away, a place for those who are, or are considered by their friends, family, colleagues, acquaintances and associates to be Coffee: Aficionados, Hounds, Hobbyists, Lovers, Snobs, Purists or just plain nuts who will never end our pursuit, (an obsession by other lesser mortals), of “That Perfect {Holy Grail} Cup of Coffee, and will enjoy every moment, though not necessarily every cup of coffee, in the “Great Quest”.

Others have their own quests: “The Great Cigar”, “The Perfect Vintage”, and those who do not share our passion or curiosities will from time to time look at us as being a bit odd, (not the worst thing in life), but they won’t refuse a cup of what we brew.

Hopefully this Blog Café will become a place of sharing and enlightening friendships.

I will set the simple rules. I would like to start with three projects at the outset:

(1) To have people volunteer their favorite coffee, be that a blend, brand or bean:

EX. (Royal Cup of Coffee)-[Villa Rey-Coffee Sumatra], served at The Capital Brewery, Shirlington, VA.). Located at the head of the street where all the action begins, it has a Sports Bar Motif/Ambience, populated by hobbyist micro-brewers and young folk; it is relaxed, comfortable and friendly.

The menu is ample, prices most reasonable, with, and for this man’s tastes, a wonderful complex Chili served with a superb Corn Bread Muffin, and for dining out, “The Cup Of Coffee” that cannot be beaten anywhere, even at the priciest of the Washington DC area eateries. This is Superb Sumatra, and a pleasant venue not to be overlooked.

It doesn’t have to be any more complicated than that. As the blog develops there will be a time and place where for example I would have more to say about this eatery, menu, venue and ambiance…etc., but later.

Your submission should come as a blog comment and so long as they follow the rules and spirit of this blog they will be moderated to appear. The more the merrier. That’s what this Blog Café is for. It is, however, not going to be an advertising site, but at the outset will be a source of your favorites and recommendations.

(2) I would like folks to volunteer Coffee information sources and I would certainly check out any submission designed as the sample entry above.

Additional recommendations of information sites and that may include companies and suppliers of coffees and coffee related products should be submitted via email to french.press.1@gmail.com . I will develop side panel links from your offerings as well as my own research.

I use McAfee’s Site Adviser to determine the cleanliness of sites and will post no links to questionable “dirty” or spam ridden sites, and should I find a problem I will let you know by private email of the problem.

(3) Again by email to french.press@gmail.com I would welcome your ideas of additional coffee post projects you feel that would be beneficial, informative and fun. I do not intend that this site get into debating the merits of let’s say Starbucks (vs.) McDonald’s (vs.) Dunkin Donuts (vs.) Caribou…etc. Certainly there will be posting as regards the growing Coffee Wars as a matter of news, interest and information.

If you like a product from a company, a regional provider, or from anywhere in the world recommend it and let’s not get into debating for the time being. The time for chat type discussions and opinion expression will come. Again; this site is not being created to advocate or advertise a brand or trash companies and products. That takes the fun and friendship out of the concept I have in mind.

Again any comments you may have may be sent to this coffee email address: french.press1@gmail.com .

I have more than enough experience in the blogosphere with a major political and controversial blog that run daily. I get enough conflict there and this one is for real fun, real pleasure.

Welcome to the Friendly Café and let’s all keep it that way. Ed. Dickau
